But I normally speed up all my podcasts (mostly nerdy Science podcasts). So until late night, I hadn't heard Josh's real voice! Now I am hearing all of your real voices - it's crazy - I usually hear this high pitched whiny sounding voice, I'm not nearly as Apple enraged with you deeper voices :)

Shawn McClelland

Comments on Engadget Podcast 137 - 03.13.2009

I'm listening - I realize you feel like you are ripping it apart, but the reality is that if this was Sony or MS, you would really rip it apart and you wouldn't spend very much time on it at all. You guys need to just accept that you are hugely apple biased (but then overpriced equipment isn't a big deal when you get to play with everything for free). I'm a lowly Neuroscience Researcher trying to cure Epilepsy who went to school an extra quarter century and get paid nothing - Apple to me is obscene in it's pricing. I will admit they have some (very few) good things going for them, but they can kiss my...

Shawn McClelland

Comments on Engadget Podcast 137 - 03.13.2009

@Shawn, not cool man.

You called them out for being pro-Shuffle when you had not listened to the podcast. Then you did listen, and you realised that they were not pro-Shuffle.

At that point, the decent and correct thing to do would be to apologise for your mistaken assumption. Instead, you've basically said, "No, I was right, because you were not anti-Shuffle *enough*."

That is pathetic - you have no way of establishing that they would be "harder" if it were an MS or Sony product (it does not even sound remotely accurate to me); that was just a weasel claim to attempt to get out of admitting your mistake. When I referred to the shuffle, I was referring to the engadget POST on the shuffle - which IS way to lenient (BTW-I never say they are pro shuffle)! I never said in my first post that I had listened to the podcast (it normally goes to the mp3 player and I listen when I have time). I was going by the outline in this post - which was Fallon, Apple, Apple, Apple, Apple....

I'm not in court here, I don't have to 'establish' that they would be harder on Sony or MS, my observations have been that they are. But even more than that, I am saying they spend all their time talking about apple. Sure they throw in some 'negative' apple time --- 'I wouldn't buy this shuffle, I would buy a Nano'... what the!? Sure they tell themselves that was 'negative', but it's positive as well.

I'm trying to point out to these guys that they have become very one dimensional, and that they are not helping the gadget world by comparing everything to apple, talking almost solely about apple, and constantly denying their apple fanboydome (or sarcastically saying that they are fanboys - thinking that because they said it sarcastically that that somehow proves they are not fanboys?).

Decency? How about Engadget starts showing some decency!

...And Vanilla - it looks like almost ALL your comments on Engadget are on Apple, so stop with your agenda and get back to work in your Apple cubicle. Engadget may actually look unbiased when compared to you.

Shawn McClelland

Comments on Engadget Podcast 137 - 03.13.2009

you guys should do a podcast with Engadget's readers...

whiteapple25

Comments on Engadget Podcast 137 - 03.13.2009

I love the 8 bit intros, lat ep was the best to date.

motoq35

Comments on Engadget Podcast 137 - 03.13.2009

Great job at the end about Netbooks. A fad which is going to be slowly pushed out by phones. My netbook is my iPod Touch (would be an iPhone if AT&T didn't suck in my area... and likely will be a Palm Pre as soon as possible). I use a "real" laptop to do gaming and editing and whatever but I can get all of my Twitter, Facebook and Email fixes straight from the iPod Touch. No need for a netbook. Now all Apple needs to do is add a physical keyboard and Flash support.

CJ
