These "Apple transfer rooms" will be located in major cities. To transfer information, 2 people need to walk in in the apple-certified room, give blood samples to verify that the user is a registered apple owner of the certified apple device. Then they can transfer up to 3kb of information, which cannot be anything but a text file. Needless to say, you can't transfer without any mobile signal, because the data is simultaneously sent to the cloud to be checked for any apple binaries or any other licensed code in the apple library.

Pretol

Comments on

Oh. If it's built into the device as hardware that's bad, I remember car manufacturers getting taken to court and losing a few years ago over the very similar scam with some hardware thing (I think it was on board computers locking out non dealer mechanics). I won't be paying for Win7 exactly because of that. As decent of an OS it finally is, most of the stuff in it should've been done in Vista, which I didn't buy actually so I wouldn't even be paying "twice" for this stuff, but I still won't be paying for Win7. I understand why people are praising Win7, and at the same time I'm amazed at the number of people who forget that the only reason Win7 looks good is because Vista for such a POS. And now on too Apple...

Fucking bullshit! You know what? I could understand paying for some of this stuff - the new pay features, push, modular maps. But copy-paste!... Took them 2 years to come up with those gestures?! Bullshit! They delayed it because of security issues? Bullshit! And bluetooth - I'm suppose to pay Apple to uncripple their hardware, for which I already payed!?! How would you like it if car manufacturers demanded extra pay to activate the Tachometer?
Moreover, I could swallow these $10 bucks a bit easier if it was required of iPhone users as well. But shafting ipod touch users just 'cause they didn't want to doll out a thousand or more dollars for a two year contract - that's messed up. Apple makes enough money on those devices as it is. Heck, given the current economy they could've called it their way of contributing to consumer confidence and spending. That would've earned them a lot of good will that they lost thanks to their shenanigans over the past several months (at least). But of course it's Apple, they couldn't give a rat's ass about their customers.

Despite many great features of ipod touch I'm starting to regret buying it.
