"BenQ made available a Nettop, named nScreen, based on AMD's Yukon platform, a month ago. We've managed to get our hands on the 19" screen i91, which combines both screen and main box into one. And, Annti (presumably one of the reviewers) can't wait to find out the audio output and the power usage.

The i91's audio output and power usage were tested under a fully-loaded CPU, running a 1080p movie, with all power management off, and the screen set to the brightest. The results was a power consummation of 48W with an audio output of 26 decibel.

Performance is one notch better than the Intel Atom, especially in displying 3D. When managing HD movies, the quality of 1080p is plus or minus 11frames, while 720p handles alright. Seems Yukon is still unable to handle full HD. There's something to watch out for if the i91 is to be treated as a pet unit (animal machine, literal translation. whatever does that mean), the audio and the brightness controls are both located on the bottom right of the unit. The screen however, does not come with an on/off switch. The only power switch is that of the unit, so the only way to switch the screen off is to go through the power management in the OS.

The recommended retail price of the i91 is about NT$17,900, while the 22-inch i22 is at NT$19,900. Regardless of the screen resolution, (not) being able to play back 1080p content (BD) is a problem. First one of these cheap and energy efficient buggers to pass that hurdle gets the win.

I managed to putz out my Atom netbook yesterday trying to watch digital TV via a USB-connected outboard tuner. CPU was at 100%, fan was in hyper mode, and it was still dropping frames every second or so.
