Ericsson reaffirms commitment to Sony Ericsson joint venture
Given the current state of Sony Ericsson, we completely understand the re-heating of rumors regarding a nasty breakup. That said, a new report from Dow Jones confirms that Ericsson (at least) has "has no plans to abandon its joint venture Sony Ericsson," with spokesperson Minako Nakatsuma Olofzon stating that "[Ericsson is] committed to the joint venture; it hasn't changed its view on that." Of course, the report makes no mention of Sony's take on all of this, but at least one half of the equation is still in it for the long haul. Publicly, anyway.

It would be a damn shame to see Ericsson go under. They make excellent phones, and I was rooting for X1.
Whoever does the marketing for Ericsson should be fired. You're entire marketing campaign can't revolve around James Bond movies.
If they broke off now Sony would probably bury them in legal. Resulting in their utter destruction.
"No plans," you say? Read between the lines. If your significant other says that she/he has "no plans" to divorce you, would you or would you not look through the Yellow Pages for a lawyer?
My significant one is married to my best friend; but she'll never divorce him: he would be devastated!
Seriously, thats the best thing these two can do.
Kiss and make up.
That's good news.
So much for a PSP Phone.
I'm not really a fan of their phones.
Although their phones have great screens, cameras, and music integration.
Their keypads and navigational arrays are always design first and are a bitch to use. Not to mention a lot of their keypads end up breaking after heavy use.
I'll stick with Samsung. =]

Well, that was an informative Wall Street Journal article :p
Ericsson just needs to break up with Sony, the big S hasn't really done anything for them except hold them back.
SE has done a pretty good job of ruining itself here in the states. They give us all the crap phones while all their best gets sent out to Japan. I say Sony needs to get that lame duck Ericsson of back and make the damn PSP phone already!
p.s. sony...you get your shit together too.
I liked their phones better before the join venture. I haven't seen a sony one that I would want. I'd be pleased to see Ericsson go back to working on their own.
