I'm pouring out invisible tears over the Alexander. Seriously, I don't see this making anywhere as big a splash as any of the Q series smartphones even if it were still slated for release. Maybe this means Motorola is headed back to the drawing board for a WinMo Pro-based device(pure speculation, folks)?

WhatADouche

Comments on Motorola cancels Alexander smartphone?

Cancelled doesn't mean can't back to live. Motorola Razr 3 cancelled but now back to live.

MotoMania

Comments on Motorola cancels Alexander smartphone?

Cancelled means forget it. If it comes back it will just be an extremely limited release thing.

And what is this about a RAZR3 being back, someone is spreading a false rumor. The only way there is a "RAZR3" is if Motorola decides to label one of their new phones RAZR3. The RAZR3 program was called Ruby, and it is completely dead.

I guess this just reinforces yet again that Motorola lives or dies with their Android releases in Q3. Hey Engadget when are you going to get some information on those phones because they have to be production ready by now.

JSWinston

Comments on Motorola cancels Alexander smartphone?

This would be the dumbest move ever for Moto, that is if they do not release a phone that is DIFFERENT than what they have previously made.... they are literally cutting their own throats. People want new, innovative, and sexy.... not some cheap-a** phone that can hardly take a photo or keep up with their texting....

I bet that Motorola will be gone (as a handset maker) within 2 years.....

vv1r3d

Comments on Motorola cancels Alexander smartphone?

i have seen this phone... it was approved for Cricket/MetroPCS, it's scheduled to launch 3rd quarter of this year... as we all know, the handset will probably be nothing like the picture... and have half of the features... so I guess it's not dead.. just comatose?!?!

mobileye
