They coulda priced that one where the HDD-less Xbox360 is and kept prices high on the 80 as it phased out the 60. But getting rid of Backwards compatibility ont he new models has me REALLY pissed at SONY and the only games I ever woulda used it with for that were Contra: shattered soldier and Gradius V.

I bought my PS3 at launch. The Bluray part of it died after a month or so.
Even then I had to jump through hoops to get it replaced. I mean honestly, the thing has been out for a couple of months, and you need proof of purchase (which I did have)?

And the fact that Sony would not sell me an extended warranty really had me worried about their confidence in their product.

The price has already dropped $100 since launch, what more do people want? I paid $500 for my Motorstorm pack last February and I'd gladly pay $500 again if I needed a seperate Ps3.

If $50 determines whether or not people buy a Ps3, then they might want to re-consider their financial situation. Some people say that the PS3 is a good value, some say that the current price is a good deal. The thing is a deal and value are, much like beauty, in the eye of the beholder. To some, the current price is justified, when I got mine - a 60GB - I paid the original price only because I had to get a Blu-Ray player (for work purposes) and it was the cheapest at the time. To me the price was not justified but I was stuck. Today, to a large number of people, at the current price it is not a good deal nor a hold as much value that you believe it has. Why pay a premium for a BD player when not everyone has a HDTV? Why pay a premium when there are relatively few (compared to multiplat) exclusive games over the 360? Wi-Fi does may not mean as much to some as it does to you.

So while you enjoy your PS3, and I enjoy mine only for BD playback (the only game I have is the PSN Q-Bert), to many others, the value is not there and it is not a great deal. People have considered their financial situation, and decided that the $50/$100 is not worth it and some other system is a better deal or has more value.

I don't know of one good 360 exclusive that came out last year, while the PS3 had a couple. And already this year the PS3 started out with hitting the 360 hard with Killzone 2 and there are more to come.
Also, it really isn't a premium. There was also a lot of great exclusives for the 360 last year and the 360 has been doing so well recently it has begun to surpass the PS3 in Japan which is a pretty big deal.

I am a happy PS3 and 360 owner but killzone 2 was not a hard hit at all. Infact it failed pretty bad and although it sold well, it didn't not generate as much interest as intended. Nearly all the games i buy (even multi-platform) i buy for my 360 since i feel the experience is better.
