The reason I signed with Sprint 12 years ago is because I didn't have to sign a contract to join, but still got a good deal on a cool phone. Now every company doubles the price of the phone and gives you "discounts" for committing 2 FREAKIN YEARS OF YOUR LIFE to a device that has a shelf life of MAYBE a year. Hell, even the AWESOME SUPERIOR IPHONE only lasted a year before they replaced it with a newer model.

sweet greggo

Comments on Sanyo's QWERTY-packin' SCP-2700 lands on Sprint

chill out

it's only a phone

mrhett

Comments on Sanyo's QWERTY-packin' SCP-2700 lands on Sprint

You're right, of course. Officially, you have to wait for your two year contract to expire, so you can't buy a new phone early through the website, but if you go to a T-Mobile store and try to buy a new phone 12+ months into your 2 year contract they will gladly cancel out the rest of your term and sign you on a new one.

They call it a "two year extension," but the term is misleading. They're not adding two years onto the end of your current release date, they're just resetting your release date to 24 months from the day you get the new phone.

I've done this once a year for the past five years or so at various locations and nobody has ever given me trouble about it.

chefgon_ign

Comments on Sanyo's QWERTY-packin' SCP-2700 lands on Sprint

Wow! check out the Nokia e71x killer... This is one cool phone, it commands knee jerk hysteria just thinking of the awesome 1.3 megapixel camera, wow! And the rectangular brick shape makes me have back to back orgasms, not to mension the flat blue color which gives it a priceless, luxury look. Am totally blown away, i'll ebay my 5800xm, e71x and my itouch and purchase this baby. Then I'll give the change to Obama to go bail out crappy oversea phone manufacturers.

Me4u2

Comments on Sanyo's QWERTY-packin' SCP-2700 lands on Sprint

Dude, I know. 1.3 mp? Really?

One thing though - Obama won't need to bail out Sanyo, they're doing fine, in fact, they got bought by Kyocera. They moved on a while ago. We may need Jesus H. Obama to bail out Sprint though, who has apparently become a clearing house for unloading yesteryear's technology.

So underwhelming.

therealmusashi
