Got an iPhone. No it doesn't do turn by turn (yet, but will soon) and the screen assists are not as helpful but I can go to satellite view if need be and the POI's are the best available. Standalone GPS manufacturers better figure out how to make money on hardware and a minimal subscription fee if they expect to be around much longer.

I just remembered - the Google turn by turn instructions better be good in the UK. Roundabouts demand early warnings or all is lost. Being told "at the next roundabout take the fifth exit" after you have already entered it is a recipe for disaster. Having a GPS is mandatory in the UK for those not familiar with the territory.

ccweems

Comments on TomTom intros ONE 140 and XL 340 series, ships GO 740 LIVE

Any chance of software/firmware updates for older TomToms for the Lane Guidance etc.?
