Seriously, The announcement doe snot state that The chipset can handle games in Full HD, only that it can handle 1080p, but it does not state in what format/codec for movies or whether it can also handle 1080p for the much more graphic intensive Directx applications. The reason why your Atom netbooks are being killed by a 1080p movies is that it is a software decoder on top of the general purpose CPU and not at Hardware decoder chip made specifically for playing varoius HD def movie format, put that on your board on you have not prob running tons on app on your cpu while having a dedicated hardware chip to run your movies.

electrobreed

Comments on

@r3loaded:

Last night I was playing 720p mkv on my mini 9 with no stutter.... For the most part it will be able to decode any Level 4.1 material @ 1080p with less than 4 reference frames. For 720p mkv files the reference frame max jumps up to 9. In general people try to stick to these standards when releasing Blu Ray x264 encodes (except CG movies where it really benefits from lots of reference frames). Hope that helps.

Tim J

Comments on

I think people are missing the point of the small case in these demos.
