Honestly, my local downstream channel gets so saturated during the evening that speeds are around 1-2 megabits at best. Now, i'm stuck here with Comcast at a similar price point...there's simply no contest, Cox is a FAR superior internet provider. I don't watch TV, so that part of the argument is irrelevant to me. Some smaller downsides are the soft caps. I call them soft because I am a pretty big user of internet TV and I probably have gone over the caps several times and haven't heard a peep from them. Also, they throttle P2P with sandvine, but with a little tweaking of Azureus I can still get 100Kpbs+ downloads.

More wireless competition is certainly welcome. What I would really like to see is more fair competition for services inside the self-contained markets of ISPs.
