It's rather odd the way they choose to hinge the display. It doesn't make it very useful for self portraits, since it would be blocked by the tripod.. Though at least this setup would be good for low shots. No front dial. No top LCD. No screw drive motor. And no buttons to set the ISO, white balance, AF mode, shooting mode, metering mode, or file quality.

The D5000 might also lack high speed flash sync. After looking into comparisons between the T1i and the D90, it looks like Nikon has little to do to beat the T1i, since the D90 already makes its 300 dollar premium well justified. I converted my D90 to IR, the video mode was next to useless to me for my video production.
