Hell, I'd be pissed off if I needed to replace a camera that I bought 4 years ago and the new ones still offered 3 megapixels.. Some struggle to provide enough details for a 6MP sensor. And physics come into play as well. As you push the pixel density further and further, diffraction limitation becomes more obvious at wider apertures. Certain compacts (the G10 most notably) have already seem to hit that wall even wide open. DSLRs, with their larger sensors, fortunately don't start to feel the effect until about f8-11. For now.

Plus smaller pixels tends to result in more noise. At least on the pixel level... which may not be important when printing the same size as with fewer MPs, but it can limit just how much of a resolution improvement you actually get.. And worse this can sometimes have a negative effect on dynamic range.

Plothole

Comments on New Pentax DSLR shots blur the boundaries of Mr. Blurrycam

If only there was a way to find the guys IP... then they would be less likely to do this, if they knew Ninjas or, even worse, the IRS would be going after them.

Jinto

Comments on New Pentax DSLR shots blur the boundaries of Mr. Blurrycam

Mr. Blurrycam must be a huge drunk.
