I personally think they made it a little bit uglier. The only good thing about it before was the Ev-Do Rev A, and now I'm reading they downgraded it? The MAJOR thing that sucked about the original Instinct was it's pathetic OS, and that seems to be the only thing that they didn't intentionally make worse, but alas, they didn't make it any better either. Maybe this is a nonchalant way to kick Instinct owners off the EV-Do Rev A network to make more room for Pre users? Lol. As MichaelKakias pointed out, the biggest drawback to the Instinct is the OS.  Let's face it, it sucks.  So much could be done to make the Instinct a kick ass phone but, it doesn't look like that's going to happen.  <br><br>For that reason, I am going to get myself a Palm Pre in June. I don't really want this phone but want to see if sprint is still trying to lock people in to a certain type of plan... I already have unlimited data and text and have no need for gps. It really didn't deliver what they promised and it lagged so badly. All the updates were late and left a lot of owners in the dark. They should have just cancelled this line if they aren't going to make any real upgrades on this unit. Its meant to be the more affordable alternative to the Instinct 2 (Samsung Dash) when its released. (at least for new customers..) 49.99 new and 129.99 qualified upgrade. <br>Phone is technically both rev a and rev o. Rev A on Downloads, Rev O on uploads. How much do you upload with your phone? At least that's the way our Sprint Indirect rep tells it.... Are the flat hardware buttons at the bottom of the screen still hard to activate unless they are pressed two or three times? The one time I used it it got 3 out of 4 words correct but didn't have any ideas in regards to one misspelled word.<br><br>Bottom buttons seems pretty good to me. Maybe they should consider running windows mobile 6.5 to make it better.  <br><br>Then they could get some real apps like internet explorer mobile, live mesh for mobile, silverlight 2 for mobile, windows media player mobile, windows mobile marketplace,.NET compact framework, .NET mobile, compact framework, and SQL server compact. Microsoft has officially confirmed a new web browser for Windows Mobile, Internet Explorer 6. <br><br>The new Windows Marketplace for Mobile is a centralized place to buy increasingly popular mobile applications. Windows Mobile 6.5 features a new user interface and "honeycomb".  A customizable start screen with hexagonal tiles for each program that are designed to be easier to use on touch-screen phones. The Windows Mobile start menu can be customized with Internet applications like weather or stock reports, that are automatically updated. The new Windows Mobile 6.5 user interface is designed to be more "finger friendly," You can also move icons up or down in the new layout. In addition, the new Windows Mobile Home screen will support special widgets, which will give status information like missed calls, new messages, etc. Another new feature of Windows Mobile 6.5 allows people to go directly to waiting voice mail, text messages or other information when unlocking their phones. Microsoft Recite, came out of the company's research group.
