I think the reason there are no dual-core atoms in netbooks now, is because of a heat issue and obvious lowered battery life. The new atoms should be smaller and take less power, so that's less heat in the dual-core ver. Just gotta wait on Intel and hope they don't pull a fast one and make dual-core Atoms only available to nettops again.

Peter R.

Comments on Samsung's 10.1-inch N120 netbook now on sale

If this just had 3G it would be what i was looking for. While the processor and memory are the same, this particular computer has a better speaker setup, a bigger keyboard, which is important to a lot of folks. Also you sometimes get what you pay for when you take the cheap seats.

Some have talked about the Asus Eee PC 1000HE being so great. I would agree that it is a nice setup, but unfortunately that tiny right shift key that no matter what anyone says is still crappy. We purchased a few of them and everyone has problem typing on them because of that crappy shift key. Yes it is better that previous models, but still not nearly as good as even the base Samsung NC10. The fact is that the newer processor has shown to not provide really any real difference in real world use. So that isn't really a benefit at all. We've had two of these ASUS power supplies die on us within 6 weeks. One has had wireless problems since the day it came out of the box. Now granted these maybe exceptions, but again you buy cheap, you sometimes get cheap!

I think the bigger keyboard for touch typist will be great! Samsung probably actually has these things priced to make a little money on them. Acer is practically giving away their computer and what is even worse is retailers aren't making but a few percent on them. They hope was to sell quantity, but unfortunately on the 10.1 model Asus and Samsung has actually out sold them.

David
