The core 2 duo and dual core is more of a brand thing, T3400 being based on Merom-2M(64nm) while T6400 is based on Penryn-2M(45nm). I have a Y410, the same product two iterations ago, and have to say that for what you pay for the Lenovo IdeaPads they are an excellent value.
