Ethernet home plugs will accomplish the same thing and its more practical in the sense everyone has a power plug in every room of their home, not so much with coax. Forget about this idea if there is an amplifier on your coax line if its not at the appropriate frequency range for the device. For the average person who attempts home networking this is going to be complicated. No matter how hard the person tries to suck on the coax cable they aren't going to get to the internet, but it would be hilarious to watch them try.

Matt

Comments on Netgear's MoCA coax-ethernet adapter kit now available, explained with bizarre cartoon

Though I thought this idea was nifty, the price is way too high (twice as much as the Netgear power outlet adapters). You're right about the plug in ethernet adapters being a better solution for houses that don't have coax in each room.
