The 4770 almost hits the nail on the head.. less power consumption and one 6pin, but it is only a minimal upgrade compared to my 9600GT =[. And when I say maxed I mean EVERYTHING at max including Anti Aliasing and full filtering. I get a steady 160-200 FPS in COD4. And high 50s with FC2 and Crysis. Why? Because I am running a Core I7 920 with unlocked multipliers. I honestly thought I would be getting rid of my 9800 when I bought it and upgrading to something more beastly. I think a lot of people are overlooking how much performance gain you get out of this new platform and would rather stuff 1000$ worth of graphics cards into a dated expired platform. My vote is upgrade to an I7 if you have the money, grab one of these

MK

Comments on

Hmmm.. strange.. some of the reviews above use i7 procs and don't match your results there guy.

nVidiot

Comments on

Are they unlocked? They are getting closer to 30FPS in Far Cry 2 but also aren't OC'ing or using 15000RPM hard drives (I'm assuming that's what you meant). But I somehow doubt your OC'ing efforts are getting you nearly 100% performance boosts over professional reviewers who are very good at setting up systems.

The GTX+ is also a more expensive (30%-50% depending on brand) card that uses 90 more watts at load... but yeah, it's a good card.. don't see anyone denying that nor do I see anyone claiming you need a $400 card to game at high performance. It hasn't been that way for a good 2 years.

nVidiot

Comments on

By the way.. the 30FPS I mentioned in FC2 is fairly consistant accross all the review systems that are using core i7's.

Relax dude.. I'm not exactly sure what your problem is.. I'm just pointing out that your numbers are nearly double the FPS of what professional reviewers are claiming with the card you own.... it makes your claims rather suspect IMO.

nVidiot
