I can't see them using that sloppy wiring in the finished product, considering every laptop I've ever disassembled has had pretty much every single wire wrapped in em shielding of some sort, often then wrapped in kapton tape.

There are clearly unpopulated ram slots just below where the fan is in that picture... This isnt a laptop and it likely wont run as hot as one, Theres a shell theat goes over the back, none of them will be pinched when its put on. The comment about the wires int he fan, not sure what picture you're looking at but the only wires I see near the fan are the ones powering it, and they are secured in a way that its not even remotely possible to get into the blades. As for the masking tape, I don't think that is exactly what that is, and I've seen it used in many electrical devices to tidy wires, not quite that excessive but who cares, it works.

Timoh

Comments on MSI's all-in-one Wind Top AE1900 gets dissected

where's the tape?

jinsei888

Comments on MSI's all-in-one Wind Top AE1900 gets dissected

Beefy laptop heatink

Oli D

Comments on MSI's all-in-one Wind Top AE1900 gets dissected

They're not out of luck.

They just need to learn to solder SMDs. noobs

superhobo

Comments on MSI's all-in-one Wind Top AE1900 gets dissected

I've got an unboxing over at http://techstauf4.com/2009/04/30/unboxing-the-msi-windtop .
