POP and IMAP are polling protocols, not push protocols, so I don't know what magic they're using to make it work, but my Gmail messages always arrive on my phone within seconds.

So... yeah. Maybe there's some other added functionality like starring and labels or something, but actual push email for gmail->blackberry already exists. I wouldn't be using a blackberry without it.
