But if Sony plans on a truly next gen handheld, then they have to bring a new level of CPU and graphic power. Personally, I want to see something that is equivalent to a PS2+ in a handheld factor.

Sony has to bring it. The new iPod Touch (3RD Gen) is going to be stellar and a serious competitor. Dude, I agree with you 100%. And I hope that physical media never goes away. But the moves that Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo as well, are doing only point to the inevitable. Trust me, I never buy the online version when I know there is a physical version available, that way I can sell it when I get bored of it and recoup some of my money back. I vote with my wallet.

I just feel that at this point we've reached the point of no return. Look at the success of Xbox Live and XBL Marketplace. 30bucks for a psp2 card game sounds reasonable to me... plus, we can have the aspect of used-games... honestly, this downloadable only thing is kinda making way toward imminent piracy.

Unfortunately it does kill the resale market, but that is just the way the market is evolving. Something's just have to be sacrificed, I guess. I for one won't mourn the loss of physical media. In fact I just sold nearly my entire game collection. I hate moving that crap around plus I have a lot less clutter.
