A 10" Atom based netbook just can't capably handle most of the things I want out of a portable computer (basic web browsing and word processing, yes, but such a machine would choke on HD video, light 3D gaming, or Lightroom, and the lack of full sized keyboards is still a major drawback for me). As for johnthezombie's suggestion of just going to a 13" Macbook, I find the difference between a 5lb Macbook and a 3lb ultraportable significant, especially when that weight is primarily going to an unnecessary disk drive and screen space (and the battery to power them) that I don't really want or need. My ideal machine would look something like the following:

-11" 1366x768 screen
-Full size keyboard
-9400M quality gpu
-Weight under 3.5lbs
-4-5 hr battery life
-Price under $1200

Matt

Comments on ASUS' Eee PC 1002HAE: a faster 1002HA dressed in Eluminum

I believe the MacBook Air is 3 lbs.

Jeebus

Comments on ASUS' Eee PC 1002HAE: a faster 1002HA dressed in Eluminum

Those are some pretty warped looking keys...

Reid

Comments on ASUS' Eee PC 1002HAE: a faster 1002HA dressed in Eluminum

Engadget: What part of the 1002ha is a thick slab of white plastic?

Ghatid

Comments on ASUS' Eee PC 1002HAE: a faster 1002HA dressed in Eluminum

The author is pointing towards older EEEs, I reckon.
