This is because of a licensing deal they have with Microsoft. Sure there are some cases where custom software solutions will still render the XP virtualization useful, but those products are rare and almost always owned by big businesses who aren't providing their employees with netbooks in the first place. It is very sharp with good viewing angles. I use it for web surfing and spreadsheets and it is much better for this than the 1024 x 600 screen I have on my MSI Wind. I did have to use slightly larger icons and fonts though. There is nothing wrong with my eyes, but at its native resolution, some things were just a little too small to easily read at my usual visual distance.
