Anything Non Price Related Or Release related is a waste of Time. Enough with the fuckin games. I guess they dont want people to have any money to buy it when it comes out. They just want to surprise people and think that theyre just gonna pull the money out their ass the day its released. Normally you get a heads up. PRICE or RELEASE DATE. Period. Tell me how much i need to have for it or tell me the day that i should have a decent amount saved by.
Its that Simple.
this is getting out of hand. The person in charge of PR or advertising is totally screwing this up for Spring and Palm.
I highly doubt anything Pre release related will be revealed today. Both the sprint website and the palm website are completely functional and not shut down.

@drew, he was obviously being sarcastic. My old coworker use to make fun of this fact every time he went to the apple site. "Hey look it's up, guess they are not releasing anything new today".
But back on topic, I also feel like it is a KEY time to release this information. We are getting to close to the rumored dates for the average non gadget geek to not know the date.

I just asked a sprint guy yesterday cause my 755 screen convenieently cracked when I'm qualified for upgrade. He said he has no idea when it will come out but he told me the price would be 300 for me. I think he's a lying bastard about not knowing but oh well. I agree, palm and sprint are going to get themselve bite in the ass for not releasing info. The rep put my name on some reserve list that he said he would call...didn't seem like too many names on the list.
Other than tech enthusiasts, such as engadget readers, I doubt much of the general public even knows about the Pre. Its not like there have been any TV ads specifically for the Pre. I would imagine it would be a short list of names, seeing as no one knows about it. Did palm spend all their money on R&D and not have enough for advertising?

Yeah palm is taking the G1 route for advertising it appears. Let your phone release with little to no hype and let word of mouth work its magic, then begin commercials weeks after release when the sales pace slows down. Its like these companies enjoy not winning. facepalm

It's pretty obvious they are having some sorta production difficulties or something ,,, I hope whatever it is won't result in the first batch having issues.
Anyway, I think they are trying to gauge the hype before setting a price point ... if there's a lot of hype it'll be expensive.
I think we're better off waiting for the next N97 and Touch Pro 2 or even the upcoming phone from the Smuckers subsidiary we all know.
