It was so bad that putting up a single color background showed a gradient. I didn't have to look hard to spot this issue either, I noticed it after immediately booting up my PC.

Viewing angles can be a monitor, but as it is mainly used for my PC and Gaming by myself, i'm rarely in a position where i notice it. iMacs and all macbooks (including pro) are TN as well unless you get the 24" versions, the glossy 24" standalone is also IPS, but ... it's glossy.

My toshiba and my macbook pro are equivalent in screen quality when i see them side by side. I haven't bee able to find any laptop with IPS screens lately. Heck, even desktops IPS screens are hard to find, due to price a lot of places don't carry what little there is. I guess it's not a spec that sells. Most customers are after 1080p, low response times.

That said, TN screen have come a long way. I still need an IPS screen, I'm willing to sacrifice response for it.
