The top left of the screen was noticeably darker than any other area of the screen, and the bottom right was noticeably brighter than any other area of the screen. I at first thought it was an issue with the monitor, so I returned it and get another one, but the second one I got was just as bad so I returned it for good.<br><br>It was so bad that putting up a single color background showed a gradient. It is a lot like these (touch of color, HD tuner, displays in 1080p etc.), execpt it doesn't have as high a contrast ration nor is it as fast to refresh, but the image quality is incredible. That's why the whole class action lawsuit over the screens was started. Although what was at heart was that the macbook pro screens were (are?) 6bit dithered rather than true 8 bit as implied by color count.<br><br>My toshiba and my macbook pro are equivalent in screen quality when i see them side by side. I haven't bee able to find any laptop with IPS screens lately. Heck, even desktops IPS screens are hard to find, due to price a lot of places don't carry what little there is. I guess it's not a spec that sells. Most customers are after 1080p, low response times.<br><br>That said, TN screen have come a long way. Theres only the 22" right now and Im waiting for the 24s to start hitting the shelves...whenever that is. These were announced at CES in January. I went on wikipedia and its explanation is very technical that it's helpless.
