In these markets, not everyone can pay for the data plans that smartphones require. Motorola still needs to ship phones like this to keep the some of its economies of scale in emerging markets. This phone will never see the light of day in North America or Europe.<br>I know everyone wants to see the Moto Android, but it's going to take a while. Nothing says "I'm a douche" any better than the guy hanging out with his friends, twittering relentlessly on his iPhone.  So to me, this phone doesn't look all that bad. The last one was a Motorola Q I got as a freebie, and it actually made Windows Mobile look *worse* than it already is.
