And the VIA Nano is even capable of running vista at very acceptable levels, something which the Atom can not do consistently. Personally I can't wait for these, if they enter the market at a similar price to current netbooks then I may be tempted to buy one and slap on a linux OS and use it as my portable machine. Because although I already have my main laptop, it's rather old and heavy which makes carrying it a pain and not usually worth it.

Gnormie

Comments on 11.6-inch Dr. Mobile FreeStyle netbook makes its video debut

> Tell me about it. What a joke. Yeah its now the better Atom processor but it still is stuck with 1 gb of memory. Yeah the keyboard is better than the Mini 9 and you have a choice of HD or SSD and the price is $299 but is it worth it ? Nope. There are other netbooks out there that offer more for the about the same bucks.

Garth Bock

Comments on 11.6-inch Dr. Mobile FreeStyle netbook makes its video debut

Dude, it's the _slower_ Atom processor in the 10v, that's why it's $100 _less_

MBS

Comments on 11.6-inch Dr. Mobile FreeStyle netbook makes its video debut

If this can do at least 1080i decoding I may be interested.

shaka999

Comments on 11.6-inch Dr. Mobile FreeStyle netbook makes its video debut

anthing over 10.5 in. should not be called a netbook.

MegaBite

Comments on 11.6-inch Dr. Mobile FreeStyle netbook makes its video debut

Looks good to me! I went through a bunch of 10 inch netbooks and the Dell Mini 12, before I went BACK to using an ancient 10.6 inch Sony ultra portable BECAUSE the 1366 x 768 resolution is so much more convenient for scrolling, remote access to my desktop, etc. I predict that 11.6 screen size and the 1366 x 768 resolution is the trend for the near future of new netbooks and should draw some buyers.

Brian Goodwin

Comments on 11.6-inch Dr. Mobile FreeStyle netbook makes its video debut

The yelolow/carbon color combo looks hot.

golfreak

Comments on 11.6-inch Dr. Mobile FreeStyle netbook makes its video debut

No OSx86 on here, just 'cause of the processor!
