This is possibly the best product that Logitech has released aside from the regular Harmony remote line. Only thing better would be a bluetooth/ir remote. If you are looking for a more versatile solution ie one not tied to harmony i would look into the ps3 tooth fairy as the old school IR2BT is no longer available. I'm not sure y EngadgetHD continues to claim that this is the first device to support IR to Blue tooth while at the same time supporting on off functionality. This may be the first truely commercial i can get it at best buy type solution but there have been home grown easy to purchase adapters out for quite awhile now. I wish the reviewer had put this adapter through its paces by testing the off functionality in all modes ie from a Game and From the XMB as well. The challange with the ps3 is that there is no off button so for most adapters you have to come up with a clever sequence of keys to turn the ps3 off from all modes and not just from blue ray mode.

normychas

Comments on Logitech Harmony Adapter for Playstation 3 -- official, real, and in our hands

You reading comprehension is on par with your spelling ability.

"...and it handles switching the PS3 on and off (not unique, but some other solutions don't)"

Mojo_Yugen

Comments on Logitech Harmony Adapter for Playstation 3 -- official, real, and in our hands

Just ordered from Amazon w/ one-day shipping (Prime). I'm in the same boat, this has pushed me to go for a stand alone player as well. The internal DTS-HD codec decoding within the PS3 is pretty muted, so it'll be nice grabbing a player that can send the signal for my receiver to decode and get the best sound possible.

$60 is 45 too much for something that should have been standard in the PS3 to begin with.

pip

Comments on Logitech Harmony Adapter for Playstation 3 -- official, real, and in our hands

$60!??!?!

Chris

Comments on Logitech Harmony Adapter for Playstation 3 -- official, real, and in our hands

So i like the looks of the harmony and the price compared to the PS3 tooth fairy. I only paid $64 for the bare elite but then i had to tear up the Sony ps3 remote I already had. The great thing about the tooth fairy is it can use any always on usb port for power if you have an extra. So it doesn't take up an electrical outlet.
