Where I live, the positively ancient and featureless Garmin Nuvi 200W sells for around US$350.  You *have* to buy at this price, since buying it from the US (at less than half the price, when it's *not* discounted) won't get you the local maps.  All other GPS devices are similarly priced, as in sky high.<br><br>Are we paying for the hardware?  No, it's the same.  The maps?  No, the local maps cover around 1/20th the area of the US, with way fewer POIs. Ebay took care of<br>me by offing it off to an unsuspecting future Garmin hater.<br>Mio's come a long way in the past 3-4 years.
