Few people know that most Alienware notebooks are built under ( Clevo Chasis )...so they are basically almost the same under the hood except Alienware uses a different material for the casing..such as alloy...

i like the new design for alienware, but on price-performance-config ratio..Sager still performs well..and better priced..

For example, I put together a rig that ran Crysis on max at 25FPS for about $1500.

Granted that's still a lot more than an Xbox 360, but since I get all the value of a PC plus gaming, you can subtract the value of a desktop PC from it...so it's about $400 more than a normal, upscale PC? That's a lot closer to a 360's price point. And you can play FPS games the way god intended, with a mouse and keyboard. That alone is worth a lot.

And when you do decide it's time to upgrade, sell your video card on ebay and buy a new one, cheaper than buying a new console. But the beauty is that you don't have to do that. If you get good components from the start, you can use it for about 4-5 years with no upgrades.

Laptops allow those of us who have to fly a lot the ability to keep our gaming going wherever. Fact is, you can't really bring a desktop on an airplane - even if you cram a Small Form-Factor rig into your carry-on suitcase, you can't cram in a monitor alongside it. As a college student who flies roundtrip for summer, winter, and spring breaks, I need something I can carry on a plane with me. Is it one of these? Probably not, due to cost. Unless LAN parties are your life, it's pointless dropping a lot of cash for something that you'll probably play at home, and will struggle to play everything on max.
