Codemasters asks, 'Fancy a bit of Cricket?'

Codemasters has just dropped word to MCV that it is developing Ashes Cricket 2009, based on this year's The Ashes games. Codies brand manager Richard Gittins thinks that the game will be a big deal, based on how crazy people went over the games the last time they were hosted by the UK back in 2005, and expects strong sales.

The game will feature all of the official matches and players (including big shots Andrew Strauss, Kevin Pietersen and Ricky Pointing), as well as a Legends mode that tasks players with completing certain technical scenarios. Ashes Cricket 2009 will release this summer on Xbox 360, PC and PS3, with a Wii version of the game releasing some time later this year.
