For example, they could update our operators with new firmwares for our branded phones. My N95 is at an old firmware and I don't want to unbrand from my operator at the risk of losing my warranty. The screen is sick.  I'm coming from windows mobile, so S60 seems damn confusing, but the web browsing experience and the phone build quality are top notch. As for the hardware design, I can't really say that much but if it feels anything like the 5800 XpressMusic, it will be inferior hardware wise as well. Under the hood there's no question about supremacy. Symbian is years ahead all others when it comes to technical aspects of the OS. All they need is a polished look & feel. Personally I'm most likely going to skip N97 cos I doubt it has enough beef to handle downloaded movies without further conversion. Looking forward to Nokia's first Maemo based phone (N900) thou. I am not sure from a global perspective, but it would appear to me that windows mobile has a very strong position because of the licensing to so many OEM's.
