I held out and told them to go screw themselves. I got an Iphone, unlocked it and I am using the old ATT plan with twice as many free minutes (1600 minutes), Free Incoming Text with 300 outgoing Text, Free Mobile to Mobile, Unlimited Early night and weekend and unlimited Data, all for under $90 Bucks. Why should I DOWNGRADE to there new plan when they are asking me to pay twice as much for what I have. I thought loyal customers are suppose to reap the benefits, been paying them on time for 6 years and now they want to screw me. I didn't fall for there lies, they never pulled the plug on me they were just trying to scare me. I hope they lose this lawsuit and have to pay out billions in compensation. Needless to say, AT&T/Cingular handled the merger in an unprofessional manner, causing many legacy customers to switch when there contract was done.

I did, 3 months early and killed the Cingular plan the very day my contract expired!

The_WB

Comments on AT&T / Cingular class action gets go ahead from federal court

When the merger happened my serviced tanked also and I am in NYC. Before the merger ATT made a deal with other carriers to use each other towers and I saw my phone switching to Tmobile, US cellular or who ever had the best reception. I switched to VZW after when I noticed my reception in my house and my job degraded. I then switched back now because VZW started putting their crappy firmware on all their phones and they are ugly and don't like them. I still have a Motorola E815 for my work phone and not planning on upgrading but for personal which I pay I have a eternity and the reception is much better than back then.

Brian

Comments on AT&T / Cingular class action gets go ahead from federal court

This is nowhere near the ass-raping that Sprint gave their old Sprint Spectrum customers. We were told Spectrum was going bye-bye as of X date and everyone HAD to switch to their wondrous new PCS phone technology. No special discount offers and the plans all changed up -- didn't matter that I had $300+ invested in phone and accessories. Maybe thats why they lost their class action lawsuit? (The horrors of paying online but not using the automatic billing). I would email them and complain. They would apologize and inform me properly of my bill for about two months then slide back to telling me my bill was due almost a week after it was due thus I was always paying late fees. Well it got easily solved when I left and went to T-Mobile. Not to mention when it became Cingular I wasn't offered rollover minutes or any of that jazz. But then again I had the cheapest billing scheme possible. Don't miss them or AT&T (and I had no problems with the "old" AT&T).

barb
