Why develop these fantastic applications for a devices that has a miniscule install base? Why not devote all that "wasted" time to making those awesome apps for other, more meaningful platforms so people will actually be able to use them. It seems as if Microsoft is saying, "Hey, look what we can do!". Well my response to that is, "Hey, why don't you actually do it?".

Sorry, but Al Roker doesn't deserve all this flair... :)

Esteban

Comments on VPlay brings video mixing to Surface, seriously improves Microsoft's office parties

Because something like this is easily extendable to multitouch tablet PCs and multitouch desktops.

MioTheGreat

Comments on VPlay brings video mixing to Surface, seriously improves Microsoft's office parties

Sure it is! The only downside is that you won't have as much screen realistate, but it would still work just fine.

You missed the whole point, though. What I was talking about is that Microsoft is not making many products that are as user friendly and have this level of graphical flair. They are certainly getting better from the days of the utilitarian Windows 98, but it seems like their truly spectacular software products are being reserved for the super-high-end product lines like the Surface. They really need to be at least attempting to push these things out to the public, which will really change their image.

Esteban

Comments on VPlay brings video mixing to Surface, seriously improves Microsoft's office parties

seriously engadget???
not even a mention of bing yet?

richie

Comments on VPlay brings video mixing to Surface, seriously improves Microsoft's office parties

Bing was mentioned on Download Squad.

rcarm

Comments on VPlay brings video mixing to Surface, seriously improves Microsoft's office parties

thats cool, its just i was surprised i havent read about it on engadget yet, i thought it would be a big story.
i just thought it was kinda sad that the newspapers in australia beat engadget to what i thought would be a big story :P

richie

Comments on VPlay brings video mixing to Surface, seriously improves Microsoft's office parties

What is bing?

Johnny

Comments on VPlay brings video mixing to Surface, seriously improves Microsoft's office parties

Awesome works.
