Eminem is one of the best rappers. I may be a bit biased towards him, since I'm also a white boy from Detroit, but it doesn't mean that he's not an amazing artist.

Encore did suck, though Relapse and his two albums before Encore were epic.

I'm thinking of getting this game if it doesn't contain untalented "artists" like Lil Wayne or Soulja Boy.

Again, I'm not into rap, I'm more of a classic rock kind of guy, though I make exceptions for talent like Eminem and Nas. I am a musician and have a music degree, but I'm also a tech person and a gamer. I appreciate the value of a fun game, I also understand not everyone can go out and pick up and play an instrument, so try not to flame my comment. I don't think this game is going to do very well. I believe it's going to miss the mark where the guitar hero franchise appealed to a lot of people.

There's other info at ^ that link. [Also check the blog entry from Game Hunters, linked to in there.] Of most note… '…Special mixes will let players use the Guitar Hero controller.' I'm really interested to see what that means.
Another point to note… "You are going to get over 100 songs from 80 artists and 80 brand-new mixes that have never been heard before, including one with Eminem and Jay-Z (together)," says Guitar Hero president and CEO Dan Rosensweig.

And DLC will come out for it. I feel optimistic about the whole thing, personally; I welcome change. [This is coming from a dedicated Bemani/Konami veteran.] The tried and true saying of "don't knock it 'til you try it" applies here.

On the issue of Eminem, his beats are great, his lyrics are freaking hilarious, and he is a pleasure to listen to. I enjoy driving around and blasting his songs.
