Unless these start rolling up soon I don't give a shit if the TV is 2 inches thick or 2 millimeters. I'm going to be looking at the the front of it anyway. How thin it isn't good for much more than a momentary "wow" factor. Plus, every single other AV component I own is certainly far, far thicker than a TV of that size and they still have to go some place... and I don't currently own a fancy AV closet. So, yeah, the thickness of the TV is pretty much meaningless for anything other a possible weight reduction.

Vidikron

Comments on JVC's 32-inch GD-32X1 LCD is 6.4-mm thin, nearly makes OLEDs jealous

Aesthetically there's a big difference between a bulky 4-inch thick TV and a

KK

Comments on JVC's 32-inch GD-32X1 LCD is 6.4-mm thin, nearly makes OLEDs jealous

@KK

Not necessarily. Depends completely on your situation. On your wall, yes, it would make a difference when looking from a side angle. Just walk into a Best Buy and look at all the TVs they have mounted on the wall. As you approach the wall it's hard to tell any thickness differences between most of them. Sure, once you get up close and puposely looking at the side the difference is clear, but even then you're going to spend most of your time look at the front anyway. But if the TV is just sitting on a stand the difference is minimal at best.

Vidikron

Comments on JVC's 32-inch GD-32X1 LCD is 6.4-mm thin, nearly makes OLEDs jealous

JVC, a good reason not to buy.
