There are a lot of people out there that just "have to" match all their products with the same brand.  I can't count how many times I have had to deal with friends or family asking for my opinion on a item, only to insist that they need it to match everything else.<br><br>I cannot think of a brand off the top of my head that I would even consider getting all of their products to finish off my home theater system (Receiver/Processor & Amp, DVD/HD/BD, HDTV). I bought the Sony BDP-S350 for $200 way back on Black Friday 2008.  Six months later, this H/K unit has no discernible improvements and is more than double the cost. Totally devoid of any historical logic, they believed that with the cheaper, easier to make, and feature complete format out of the picture, that Blu-ray costs would quickly drop. But, I'm a few years ahead of normal people.<br><br>Blu-ray can die for all I care. Blu-ray is awesome for both sound and image.  It's a serious upgrade from DVD and HD streaming just isn't there yet.  You can go get yourself a perfectly capable BDP for a reasonable price. Yet after three to four years prices fell down below the magical $199 mark. You can buy a blu-ray player that downloads netflix for $250.  You can get a PS3 for $230.  Methinks you're so anti-blu-ray because you're saddled with the bag-o-hurt OS and have to pledge allegiance to the corporation, because they don't even offer the option.
