Archos 10s and 13 laptops get the video treatment
Archos hit us with a couple new laptops earlier this week in Paris, and just as you'd expect, the crew from ArchosFans was there to grab some video of the new machines. The new Archos 10s pretty much just the Archos 10 repackaged in a slightly smaller package, while the Archos 13 is the company's foray onto the CULV scene -- it's pretty nice-looking for $800, but we're still wondering how Archos is planning on distinguishing either of these from the million other me-too netbooks and thin-and-lights on the market with the exact same specs. We'll find out soon -- they're due in August. Videos after the break.

is it me, or this french guy needs to take some classes in Sales / Promotion?? Where's the excitement and enthusiasm?!
It's hard to think of it as a netbook when its running a full operating system and not one of those light weight linux shells.
Love how the one in the pic is running Windows 7, and yet they come out in August...
are these photos from the future?
Or it could be (GASP!) the RC that's been around for more than a month!
Truly these are prophetic visions people.
I wouldn't call it slightly smaller, at least thickness wise, it's probably the thinnest netbook around, from the specs at least thinner than the ASUS Seashell, not sure about the CULV though, but considering its not made like the Air or Adamo, its probably going to compete against the msi slims
wait the CULV laptop has a DVD drive, that's pretty cool
$800 for a 13 inch with a celeron processor? I have an archos 5 so I'm saying I dislike the brand at all but that is just a bad deal. Am I missing something? My sister got an ideapad from lenovo with a C2D processor for like $500.
shift keys in the wrong place D:
No no its French. Arrrchos!
any guess on how long the ten cell battery will last?
and is it possible to order both the ten cell and the cd drive and have them user swapable?
Its been a long time since ive bought my av500, think it might be time to update.
I am surprised that the thing hasn't died on you. It was definitely a smart move to pass on the 605, I was not very happy with that purchase.
How does that 1.2 Ghz processor compare to an atom?
It sounds heavy when he moves it around (the 13) but it's supposed to only be 3.3 lbs? (a lot of websites have translated 1.5kg to 2.2lbs, for some reason)
Celeron? C'mon! Put a usable CPU in it and I'd pay the near $1000 price. 10-cell battery in place of the DVD is awesome, and something more manufacturers should be doing.
I guess it is just a OEM of TongFang S30i which the DVD-ROM is removable and the slot can fill with optional battery
