Leave it to the brain trust at HiPhone to thwart our expectations. Instead of delivering a KIRF laptop befitting the company previously known for that dubious nano / Aura mash-up, the iLaptop-2009 makes no attempt to be anything other than what it is: a totally nondescript 12.1-inch device that sports an Intel N270 (1.6GHz) processor and a 160GB SATA HDD. Yours now for a cool $450. And have you seen the pics of this thing? Man, are they lousy -- so bad, in fact, that we feel compelled to include a gallery of them for your enjoyment. You're welcome.

finally a nice 12 inch laptop thats also slim thanks to the lack of vga port!
i will prolly wait for the next version of msi X series without vga to see how much slimmer it can get.
Looks exactly like a white macbook air? So why is it supposed to be über-ugly? I like it, much better form factor than netbooks and 449$ for a 1280x800 display notebook (sans optical drive) with macbook air measurements isnt bad at all..

I think it actually looks really nice.
I'd like to see one of the editors on here try and produce any of the stuff these guys are putting out. Just because it's not made by a major company doesn't mean it's no good. Everyone starts off at the bottom.

Maybe it's not as slim as it seems to be, the laptop is always at an odd angle at all the pictures
@b3tan Engadget doesn't make electronics. Also, they said the 'pics' were bad.
It needs speed holes. They make the computer go faster.
It's pretty good looking. The photos were hideous though.

That thing should come with a "might cause blindness and diarrhea" warning. Add a logo or something, that way at least you might resemble the white plastic Apple Macbook.
It comes with a power supply and a notebook... book.
I fail to see the difference between this "lousy" computer and 90% of the other piece of crap PC laptops from random chinese companies that are featured on this site daily.

Most likely it's made in the same factories that make every other laptop out there. They stole the molds from the Macbook Air, put in a generic MB and HD and sell it for $450.00. Go team!
In regard to the photos...well, since there *really* isn't much to criticize in a uber-generic laptop for a bargain price, lets rip on how bad the photographer was.
Finally, if you slapped an apple logo on the back and called the the MacBook "Vapor" fanboys would be killing each other to be the first to buy it and defend it as perfection in computing.

I think someone needs to explain to whoever took those pictures that you don't put something completely white on a completely black background. Cameras don't like that.

I like how you can see the crappy photoshop editing to remove the obvious background in the photos and replace it with black. They couldn't spend $200 on a photographer to get some product shots? hahaha
