Come on Goodman, even though the 3G S has a better camera, it still sucks balls. I can't tell any real difference between the pictures on that and the 2g. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying my 3G S, especially since I upgraded from a first generation iPhone but the camera on it is still pretty terrible.

As for the other features, they're either something the iPhone should have had in the beginning (like voice dialing, copy pasta, etc) or they're just an expected evolutionary improvement (like a speed/memory bump).

Like I said, I'm thoroughly enjoying my phone but don't make it out to be something it's not. I'm an Android fan...but I realize that the reason iPhone sells so well is because of a few things.

1.) Apple markets the HELL out of it
2.) Within the marketing they advertise simplicity and beauty
3.) It's Apple...LOL

I really could see Google following in these shoes (I mean...come on. Google is just as popular as the Apple name)
But first they need to crank up the advertising (that mostly falls on T-Mobile though) and advertise its simplicity.
Then they need to get some beautiful handsets IN THE US...
Because lets face it...the G1 is an ugly piece of ish.
But with the MyTouch 3G they seem to be starting the marketing game. Er... I never said that it's a "revolutionary step from the previous iPhone". I merely suggested it was an error to say that the 3G S is an "iPhone 3G with a compass". As the name implies, the 3G S is clearly an evolutionary improvement of the 3G, and I'm happy about that. There were clearly some basics that needed to be worked on before making dramatic changes to the platform. And I don't believe in making big changes (with all the attendant hassles for third party programmers and accessory makers) merely for the sake of change. If it's not broke, don't fix it, and most of the iPhone works very well. As for the camera, well, there's real limits as to what is possible with the optics of a tiny cameraphone lens. To be fair...the "market" hasn't spoken just yet. Not til they claim that spot.
But the numbers don't lie...people do love them some iPhone.

All in all (and this goes for EVERY phone) I don't get why people put such emphasis on weekend sales.
I'm more concerned with lifetime.

I mean...if my device sells 1 million in the weekend.
