Charging fro their SDK is gonna turn away a lot of developers as i dont really see people being overly excited about the PSPgo in the first place. Plus charging for the SDK means that somehow the developer is gonna have to recoup those funds somehow..

Oh i know pass the buck to us consumers so that well be paying the "PREMIUM" prices usually reserved for really large or high profile games on the XBOX360/Iphone being the normal price of games on the PSP.

Question, if SONY is chrging for its SDK does that mean that they're not gonna be taking any of the profits from the sales of these these games or is SONY gonna do just like it did with the PS3 and Bite at both ends You know, charge ridiculously high prices and not subsidize anything because its sheer profit margin that their concerned with. It absolutely must be a western mentality thing going on at SONY, because Microsoft and Apple two of the largest American based companies are proving that taking the consumer into account and listening to what people want actually makes a difference in the long run. When Apple or MSFT screws up they try to fix it alng with their image so as to keep those $$$ rolling in. Happy consumers equal loyal consumers. But Sony who sell competeing products in both AREAs that MSFT and Apple occupy hasnt being doin nearly as well as either company and has this "well theres more where they came from " approach to everything. I know the wholel Japanese business model is like "failure is not an option" but seriously take a hint when something just isnt working. People arent buying your products so you dont go and charge more for everything else to make up for what your losing.

Grrrl

Comments on Sony's plan for "snackable" PSP game and application downloads revealed

ummmm What game System has a FREE SDK??? seriously....

Chris D.(PSN: Aggie_CEO | XBL:The Aggie CEO | Steam: Aggie_CEO

Comments on Sony's plan for "snackable" PSP game and application downloads revealed

how come whenever sony does things somewhat right a douche like you comes in and says that they're doing something wrong.

solarshadows074

Comments on Sony's plan for "snackable" PSP game and application downloads revealed

Apples SDK may be free but you still need to pay $99 A YEAR to be able to publish so technically Apple's SDK isn't free to app publishers.

I also reckon that the PSP's SDK has a lot more game libraries than Apple's GameKit (which is only an API for peer to peer networking).

cduran01

Comments on Sony's plan for "snackable" PSP game and application downloads revealed

Forgot to add that to develop for the iPhone requires a Mac, last time I looked Macs aren't free or cheap.
