everyone talks about this being new important tech, but honestly, who really cares about a 3d picture? It's kinda "neat," but really now... Useless. Advancements in touchscreens are gonna be the most important thing to happen in tech for a while, as it has a wow factor, as well as some utility. Thats what the future of 3D photography holds,

Touchscreen is nice, I'm not saying one is better then the other. Just understand that 3D will be everywhere and will change home entertainment and gaming in a rudimentry way. It certainly does have utility whatsoever. It takes stereoscopic pictures digitally, provides an easy way to view them with naked, uncrossed eyes, and has the ability to generate prints that can also be viewed by naked eyes.

That may not be utility that you care about. But it is utility.

Affordable? I can afford it. We'll see if the prices come down.

Imagine these potential uses for stereoscopic imagine:

3D virtual tours would be incredible for real estate, potential college students who can't afford to fly across the country to see what a campus truly looks like, or people who want to get a good idea what certain landscapes look like (Grand Canyon, the moon) but are for whatever reason unable to go.

Pictures of your kids, grandkids in their most precious moments. A 2D picture is great, but it doesn't give all the depth, contours that 3D can give. Remember, this camera will capture 2 different images at the same time; this means that you will have a two and three-dimensional representation of any image you take. This is especially great for family members who live far away. There is a certain personal touch that you lack when watching a home video on the TV. I have created many 3D home movies, and while rewatching them, it is like reliving the experience over and over again.

There is another thing that the 3D market is also destined to dominate.... that, my friends, is pornography. Honestly, just take a moment to reflect on that. Can you honestly say that if 3D really does become easy and affordable to a lot of people that the market for this tech won't increase exponentially, if for no other reason than for porn? Remember this: porn was one of the deciding factors in the VHS/Beta format war.

Maybe I'm nothing more than a 3D fanboy. Maybe you're nothing but a 3D hater. Who knows? One thing is for sure: 3D is back, and it may actually stand a chance this time--not necessarily to replace the 2D market but instead to create more options. If you have the hardware for viewing 3D (and a lot of new TVs are coming with this at no extra cost), why not have something like this camera, knowing it can give you both a 2D AND 3D image at the same time, especially if the cost comes down a little bit? Any why not buy Disney's "Up" if the blu-ray includes the 2D and 3D image?

I pulled out an old album of the prints recently, and it was magical.
Seeing things frozen in time in 3D is hard to describe.
I had shots taken of my old work research project, and I spent hours looking at them.
The detail and amount of information you get from the spatial representation is far beyond what you get from still 2D photos or even video.

I can't wait for this new camera and the photo frame which goes with it.
