Mostly because it sounds like it's going to provide some competition for the Kindle. Competition = Consumers win. I hope that we're looking at free access here. The theory is largely that the continual purchases will cover the cost of moving the data. Additionally, that the device technology will limit the devices use (Yes, you can surf on it, but how much do you really want to?) I hope that the feature set they offer will be similar to the Kindle, and I hope that they offer a device the size of the Kindle, rather than just a DX competitor. I don't want a little Kindle because it doesn't do PDF without some roundabout conversion process, and I don't want a big Kindle because the price is so high. And I keep wondering how much less Amazon could charge if they weren't paying for the Whispernet to go with it.<br><br>I know some folks love always-on data access, but I don't need it in my eReader. Say like $200 for the reader and $100 for a lifetime connection or $5-10 per month otherwise.  Like others have said earlier, Sprint is getting paid for their Kindle service.  The cost is just tied into the Kindle's already high price.
