I find it weird that the only people that seem to feel that watches aren't needed any more are gadget obsessives.

People still buy them because they present a more convenient option than fumbling in your pocket for a mobile, they're easier to read in direct sunlight, they're decorative items. Why wear a watch when it's only function is to tell the time (possibly date) when you can look at your phone and get accurate time and date?

As for your comment about being hard to read or what not. iphone and blackberries are the hottest selling phones nowadays. It takes me one second to see the date on home screen, and maybe 3 seconds to switch to the "Clock" which displays the time in giant LCD numbers.

Face it, times have changed. It's way easier to check your phone for time and pretend you were just looking to see if you got any texts than it is to look at your watch on your wrist.

The watch is nearly becoming obsolete. The watch will never be obsolete. I do agree that with the cell phone its no longer "necessary" but I'm a gadget lover and I love watches too. Especially the iPhone in fact, but that is a little easier than most. Most often I am not in any real position to check my phone, and in some cases I can't afford to kill my night vision with a bright light source (which is why tritium = awesome).
I understand if you would rather check the phone, but most find the watch easier.

Oh and as far as wrist caner, well you phone is usually in you pocket right? I own a watch phone already that has Bluetooth A2DP, MP4 playback, QVGA cam, and touchscreen. Problem with the devices this small are the batteries. I like that the Samsung at least has Outlook sync but this watch phone is even more anemic than my existing watch phone which means that at the 450 euro pricetag, it's definitely overpriced considering mine only cost USD$150. The screen is much larger on the Samsung compared to the LG but it doesn't justify the price tag. Also what's up with no 3G and Bluetooth tethering?

Whtrbt7

Comments on

Say hello to wrist cancer :)

Epicka

Comments on

need to get to my profile... just passin through

fffunfarm06

Comments on

Yea, you're new here, You could at the very least have commented on the girl.....

jack

Comments on

Too bad about the screen being installed upside down on the demo unit, though.

Geoff
