It's really sad that I can't use this application on my phone. I have never jailbroken my phone out of fear of the repercussions, but this may be the last straw. <br><br>Quick question that's slightly off topic with regards to Google Voice:<br><br>If my mom calls my GV number from her AT&T cellphone and I answer from my AT&T iPhone, we're still covered for free under the family plan right? Or does the GV number take over and we both start using our minutes? I'll have to look into this because I use GV daily. Nothing nicer than being able to give people my GV number & not my cell number. This way I can forward my calls to any number I want  if I lose my cell phone, which I did once. Also,I don't have to worry about missing cell calls until I can buy a replacement phone. We have Palm's robust approach to the iTunes debacle in which they openly state the Pre's firmware update addresses the sync issue with iTunes, and now the GV app has been ported by the developer to Cydia for free - supporting the homebrew community.<br><br>I wonder where this can go? Each and every app store rejection is a big chink is the Apple armor.<br><br>What's worse is I think they've started to drink their own cool-aid and have lost all objective judgment when it comes to the iPhone. First of all, it gets a percentage of the revenue generated from the monthly plan itself. If there's one thing Apple would never do, it's give up revenue. Second of all, even though the GUI would be awesome, the software would be crippled in some way, as all their stuff is crippled. Either through the intention of saving the features to get people to buy updated hardware or because it would compete against Apple's other sources of revenue.<br><br>For example, Final Cut Studio. No support for Blu-ray because Blu-ray competes with iTunes. You can't even export audio to an mp3 in Final Cut because that's a bit too universal and allows you to easily use other phone and devices.<br><br>No, Apple wouldn't do it and if they did, it wouldn't have nearly the features google voice has.
