Motorola Morrisson with T-Mobile 3G and UMA hits the FCC
Well well, what's this? Seems a certain Uncle Sam's been poking around the lab with the Android-powered Motorola Morrison, and published his findings to the "World Wide Web." And hey -- are those T-Mobile 3G bands with UMA support we see in these action-packed RF reports? Why yes, they are -- too bad Sam didn't see fit to include any actual pictures of his new toy. Still, we've got a feeling this is one unreleased Motorola we'll be getting our hands on real soon.

UMA is really nice, makes those micro-cell deals kinda obsolete.
Does any other carrier support UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access)?
Rogers here in Canada does.....but I think UMA is an "attempt" by the Telco's to charge more for VOIP. I have had nothing but dropped calls using UMA.
I use Fring with Skype/SIP....cost less and more usable.
OK...
what i don't understand with this phone is that it's being portrayed as the new and improved version of the g1. if its new and improve its suppose to be better than the g1 but instead it has a smaller screen and somehow manages to look uglier than its predecessor.
I don't think it is.
There was talk at one point about the Morrison being the G1v2 but I think that was cleared up and they're two different phones.
If this is true, it will be the first T-Mobile US branded phone with WiFi + UMA + 3G.
Not quite. The Blackberry 9000-something will be the first 3G + UMA device to hit the shelves, in September.
So its GSM and CDMA in one? that would be reallyyy nice
No, it's GSM and 3G/3.5G (WCDMA) in one.
I am glad it is a "Talking Phone". Wouldnt really be useful any other way.
how does the fcc site work, when i click a link it tells me to download "retrieve.cgi"
am i missing something?
and how can you tell the name and specs? im so lost =(
Ehhh
"Model Number: CLIQ MB200"
So this thing will be called the Motorola CLIQ? They're still using that naming scheme, right?
Man, AT&T really needs to get an Android phone....
They will probably be getting the Hero which is the best android device to date.
Yea, I agree that it's the best to date. I do hope they get it. I'm pretty disappointed though in all the reviews so far, it's been basically said that it's awesome in every way except that it suffers from a lot of UI lag and slowness. I sure hope that gets worked out, and I'll buy it for sure.
The FCC reports also said that the MyTouch3g would have UMA. How that work out?
ugh, why is a carrier i would never get getting all the cool devices?
Because the carrier you would never get is trying to make itself the carrier you WOULD get.
Quad band 2G and Tri band 3G.
This is Great.
I don't see a slide out keyboard anywhere on the iPhone.
This is a reply for Paul Chapel's Show comment.
Argh! The Key features are so vague... I hope this badboy will come out in a more reasonable color with great specs. Because I really like the D-pad and it would work great with all those emulators. The G1 isn't cutting it when it comes to gaming sadly :/ According to the fact sheet, it'll be $149.99 and Motorola DID report last year that their first Android would be better and cheaper than the G1. So I'm having my fingers crossed. Though I'll have to wait for a few months for the unlocked version to get cheaper since I'm sticking to at&t.
Who let this guy out?
Er, i meant this as a reply to Paul Chapel's Show
--Why has the Reply system betrayed me!!?--
Paul Chapel, you know, I think Motorola sueing one of the iPhone execs for the trading secrets and breaking the contract had something to do with iPhone's design. Besides that, the reason I don't have an iPhone is because it lacked so many basic features that many phones had had for years. It's locked down like a prison. It lacks a proper home screen, it can't multi task, its OVERRATED, it lacks microSD expansion slot(though I could forgive it for have the large internal memory), it has no physical buttons for playing games the old fashioned way(you can't button crunch on a touch screen), and it doesn't seem like a big deal to me. That's why I headed to Android.
Where is the Hero T-Mo...
lol. I don't know why I find this funny ...
"... and published his findings to the "World Wide Web." "
You lost me at "Motorola" LOL
I will never go there again!
