So, basically, they do have a meaning. And 1080/60p is something that's not really well supported. 1080p can be upscaled from 720p
1080p HD READY ! (accepts 1080p signals but display 720p)
Big HDTVs (people assume it's 1080p)
Plasma-LED-LCD
Component HDMI etc

No wonder they can lie and get away with it most people do not want to get into all this crap
