But, they are not universally better. There is a market for a lower resolution monitor. I can see my current monitor just fine. But, larger monitors are illegible. As resolution goes up, the size of objects goes down.

It seems that the larger a monitor is, the more pixels per inch. I would like the same pixel per inch count I have now, but in a larger monitor.

It may be a bit of a niche market, but there is no one servicing it. I help a lot of people who complain that they cannot read a newer monitor. I know all the tricks to zoom, enlarge fonts, larger icons etc. But, you cannot compensate on everything.

The first company that offers monitors with a lower resolution, but otherwise high quality, will make a killing.

There are an increasing number of computer users over 40 or 50 years old. So your needs in a monitor change.

NOW GET OFF MY LAWN YOU PUNK KIDS!!!! :-)

Larry

Comments on HP debuts 2709m 27-inch 16:9 display

Just picked up this monitor yesterday. I was looking at higher resolutions side by side and honestly 1920x1080 is the perfect size for legible fonts the distance I would be sitting from the monitor. Im not sure why people think you cant put 2 documents side by side at this resolution....
I compared this side by side to the Asus 27" and Hans 27.5" and the picture quality was better. I have all the USB ports and card readers I can ask for between my keyboard and tower, so that was not a necessity for me. If you feel like looking at the COMPUTER monitor from outer space at a 180 degree angle just to say you can, that's your business. With that said, the picture quality is fantastic, amazing colors and the contrast ratio looks great with games and movies. This is a huge monitor at a great price ($360).

DeesNots
