Yes they have hardware limitations. Below a certain bar you get a basically free OS package to sell with your netbook. They're discontinuing  Z series Atoms for _NETBOOKS_.  They're still planning to ship them to MID makers.  This is, supposedly, partially because they can't keep up with the demand for Z series to both MID and netbook makers, so they're going to reserve the Z series for MID makers. For an ultra portable with a "large" screen, it is perfect for my needs. Running Firefox, Itunes, MS Office, Google Talk, Hulu desktop, Netflix instant viewing software and I stream movies on Surfthechannel.com and it performs well. But when I watch videos, I try not to have any other apps open in the background. The screen's resolution is amazing... not bad for $350. It's not just "a little bit faster," it's on the order of 2 - 2.5x faster than a netbook.
