They fixed the 2407 lag in 2408. The initial 2408s had some minor lag issues which were later fixed in rev A01. I have it and it's perfectly fine.

I get asked this a lot and my 23.5" worth is...

Since the question isn't colour accuracy or gamut but price, size and pixels the brand is moot since all the options in that category come out of the same couple of factories. DVI and HDMI, 1920x1080, with 16:9 aspect and is currently on special. In Aus it's the one around the $360AUD price point at the moment.

back in spring 07, I knew I was migrating to another country so i wouldnt keep my PC. at the time i had a 2001wfp. I also had recently gotten my x360. I didnt want to lug a heavy speaker system around either and wouldnt have a TV. So my plan was to travel with simply this:
- macbook pro
- xbox 360
- creative 2.0 speakers
- 24" screen.

and being that I knew dell had the best panels and bang for buck, i watched, waited, compared and the 2407HC ediction monitor came out.

2 years later, let me tell you, the setup is beautiful, it works great and is easy to move. the connections:
- macbook pro: DVI -> 2407 / 3.5mm jack to speakers
- x360: component -> 2407 / rca -> 3.5mm to speakers (which i swap plugs)

and you can switch back and forth during loading screens. and now the 2408 is even better.

Also, if you are on a real budget... consider the Dell S2409W. Its only about $220 and has HDMI. I wouldn't bother with the U2410. IPS typically have a much lower response time than VA panels, plus you should be able to get the 2408WFP cheaper once it is released where you live ;)

No it doesn't have speakers its a monitor not a tv. If you want a tv then buy one don't ask for a monitor. Reasons being? If you're using this for an Xbox 360 as well as a Monitor, the 16:9 Aspect ratio actually comes in handy, a computer can be told what aspect ratio it has, while a 360 on the other hand cannot. So basically what this means is with some of the other monitors it would either stretch out the 16:9 to 16:10 and give you a distorted image, or give you black bars on the top and bottom, which I know some people don't mind but you'd feel better knowing that every bit of your monitor was being used to the fullest potential. Also, the price is good, the specs are fantastic, and Asus makes a wonderful product, haven't had a problem with mine yet =D, plus the decent GTG response time means very little ghosting.
