But on a serious note this brings us one step closer to a yugioh style game with real holograms. now all we need is a giant stadium and card with special chips in them like the ones in passports and we're all good. Then again, the machine could go haywire and start attacking us with blind fury. Giving it an (advanced) AI wouldn't help much either because it might go paranoid HAL 9000ish on us.

It's not a hologram. The image is flat (2D) but hanging in space in front of the display. It's using a concave mirror with the display, so it would appear to be floating in space if you were there in person.
